Anas Alkharbootly

Section 1

Anas Alkharbootly is a filmmaker, entrepreneur, and the founder of Peaceful Films, a boutique studio that produces high-impact media for real-estate and local brands. He leads projects end-to-end—producing, directing, shooting (DOP), and editing—to deliver
clean, interview-driven stories with purposeful b-roll, natural sound, and consistent graphics. Comfortable on lean crews, Anas is hands-on with cameras, lighting, and DaVinci Resolve/Adobe workflows, and he’s a certified drone operator experienced with
Matterport/iGUIDE capture for immersive 3D tours.
Anas is currently completing TV Broadcasting Production at Conestoga College, building on a Social Media Marketing post-graduate credential that helps him align beautiful visuals with measurable reach. As a business owner, he pushes to “make
small look big”: reliable planning, clear communication, and fast, on-deadline delivery. Through Peaceful Films, he serves agents and organizations across the region with MLS-ready media, event coverage, and short branded pieces—always aiming to elevate local stories with broadcast-quality craft.

Anthony Barath

Senior Editor – Section 1

Anthony Barath brings the smile and positive energy to help the team succeed! With his talents in editing, he will make each episode engaging from start to finish. He learned his skills in editing in the first year in the program and has quickly advanced his editing skills. As many people dread working long hours to perfect a video that they are editing, Anthony enjoys every moment. He puts all his heart into the process and when he finally gets to the end he finds it rewarding to see that time equals success. He looks forward to completing Face Off and acting as one of the senior editors on this year’s season of Conestoga Connected!

Aidan Brown

Section 1

Aidan Brown is a technical worker who loves attention to detail. With his primary interest lying in editing; he is a student at Conestoga College in hopes of one day entering the film industry where he can bring people’s visions to life including his 
own. His interest in this industry is from his childhood, where he would watch films as well as create various forms of content. His technical skills lie deeper than just editing, as Aidan is also strong in scriptwriting, lighting, and camerawork. One day, he hopes to pursue his own line of freelance work using his skills obtained through interest and education.  He hopes to continue to gain a deeper understanding of the industry and build on skills in prompter, camera, host, assistant director, producer, and hopefully one day director. 

Darren Cherrey-Elliott

Social Media Manager – Section 1

From a young age, Darren Cherrey-Elliott was drawn to capturing and preserving 
moments forever, sparking his early childhood journey into 
photography and videography. What began as a curiosity soon grew into a passion, first practiced through countless hours with his mother’s Nikon DSLR before transitioning to a Sony mirrorless 
camera and steadily building his own personal kit.

He spent years building an understanding of where to point his lens at the world around him, friends, family, and the striking landscapes of Wellington North. Darren continues to develop technical skill and an eye for detail and storytelling. Each project becomes a way to see familiar places from a fresh perspective and to capture the fleeting moments that often go unnoticed. Now, studying at Conestoga College, he is refining his craft to turn this lifelong passion into a meaningful and successful career. 

Marcus Grosz

Section 1 – Host

Ever since Marcus Grosz was a kid he’s been passionate about the arts. He loved the stage and the attention it brought. When he’d watch movies he’d memorize every line. His main inspiration is 
Jim Henson. He liked that Jim Henson brought joy to everyone. He strives to be that type of entertainer. Not someone who does it for the money, but for passion. He loves movies as well and all the different aspects about them. He loves writing – from scriptwriting to writing novellas. 
He hopes one day to be a writer, director or performer. He has volunteered for a variety of productions at Rogers TV. He loves covering live sports broadcasting. He loves the aspect of constantly being on your toes and that anything can happen at any given moment.

Ethan Horst

Section 1 – Host

Ethan Horst has a deep passion for entertaining the ones around him by creating and capturing memorable moments, which began many years ago through various projects in school.

This obsession has led Ethan to attend Conestoga College’s Television and Independent Production program, where he is able to showcase his skills, learn more about the production industry and have an impact on the ones around him. Ethan has years of
experience with filming, editing, and posting for social media through his work with StripeLife Canada, and is ready to continue growing his knowledge as a student of the industry. Ethan also loves working in and around sports and is very knowledgeable when it comes to discussing them.

After Graduation, Ethan plans to work for a Broadcast company that covers live sports productions, where he can continue to develop his skills and be a crucial member of the team.

Cameron Payne

Section 1

Cameron Payne has a passion for storytelling and putting his ideas on screen. He has strived to be on the big screen since he was very young.
Cameron is intrigued in sports and sports broadcasting and is committed to learning how to make his dream a reality. He has always been in awe about the behind the scenes work and enrolled in the Broadcasting – Television and Independent Production program to further his knowledge.
Cameron is always looking for opportunities to improve his skills and learn new ones as well. He is willing to branch further to learn more about the industry as a whole. Once Cameron is finished with his program he hopes to work behind the scenes at Sportsnet or TSN in Toronto covering the Toronto Raptors. 

Siena Pitsikalis

Section 1

Siena Pitsikalis has always been passionate about creativity and collaboration, which she first developed during her time at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. There, she led the cheer team as
the head coach, building the team from the ground up, choreographing dances, and fostering teamwork. She also supported the hockey program as a manager, capturing moments behind the camera and assisting the coach to ensure the team’s success. These experiences strengthened her ability to organize, motivate, and work closely with others. Now studying Broadcasting – Television and Independent Production at Conestoga College, Siena is excited to bring both her leadership and creative skills into the industry. While she enjoys contributing behind the scenes, her true passion is being in front of the camera as a host or anchor. Siena’s goal is to merge her love for performance with her dedication to storytelling, making a lasting impact through broadcasting.

Rohan Roy

Section 1

Rohan Roy is a media entrepreneur and creative professional passionate about storytelling through live streaming, photography, and videography. He has built his career on combining technical expertise with creative vision to deliver engaging, high-quality productions.
As the founder of Brions Media Company, Rohan currently produces sports broadcasts, community events, and creative projects that connect with audiences on a personal level. He leads teams, manages complex workflows, and integrates new technologies to bring professional-level productions to schools, organizations, and businesses.
Looking ahead, Rohan plans to expand Brions Media Company by developing advanced live production systems, building collaborative workflows, and offering innovative services to a wider audience. His goal is to create impactful visual experiences while growing a sustainable, future-ready media brand.

 

Chamkaur Singh

Host – Section 1

Chamkaur Singh’s passion for storytelling began as a teenager dreaming of acting in Hollywood films, a dream that gradually evolved into directing and writing. His journey took him from a small town in India to Canada, where he worked a variety of jobs— from shawarma shops, Amazon deliveries, mattress factories, internet installer to trucking—experiences that shaped his character and he gained more empathy and understanding of
people.
Now studying Broadcasting – Television and Independent Production at Conestoga College, Chamkaur is developing both the creative and technical skills needed for filmmaking. He has worked on a short TV series as a Production Assistant and a Third Assistant Director, gaining first-hand knowledge of how sets operate and how communication across departments is essential for success.

After graduation, he aims to explore all mediums, particularly feature films, to tell universal human stories interwoven with his own history and culture, creating work that unites audiences.

Tapan Shah

Section 1

Tapan Shah is an avid believer in visual storytelling. Since watching
movies from childhood, he has been inspired to learn the behind-
the-scenes aspects of it. That brought him to the course Television
and Independent Production, to hone his skills in it.
He has been inspired by the movies and is actually learning all the
things involved in all the different stages of production. Tapan Shah
is now focusing on the production and post-production aspects of
filmmaking. He’s also very interested in the live broadcasting aspect
of it and would like to take his skills further to a professional level in
directing and the cameraman role to maximize his impact on the live
broadcasting team.
Tapan Shah also secured a job offer in the Conestoga varsity media
department, where he will broadcast Conestoga’s College sports
matches, and that will help him prepare for his future in many ways,
such as professionalism, work culture, and many others. After
graduation, Tapan Shah is interested in making a career in
filmmaking, but also doesn’t mind going into broadcasting to take his current job knowledge and convert it to a professional level.

  

Sourav

Section 1

Sourav found his passion in storytelling, influenced by his traditional upbringing and the surroundings he was raised in. He is a student at Conestoga College as well as a camera operator 
and video editor on the segment, Secret Sauces of Start-ups, a series that features local small businesses and young entrepreneurs.

Having worked behind the lens and in production in various roles, Sourav is well equipped with an all-around understanding of essential skills required for Conestoga Connected. After graduation, he wishes to work in television or film and focus on producing influential stories by telling compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

He also likes experimenting with new start-up ideas in his free time, which encourage him to start his own business with the help to make his future bright. He believes media can be an instrument in people’s lives and wants to create work that connects, resonates and changes people’s worlds on a deeper level.
